A Quincy man will be serving 30 years in prison for producing child pornography.
Kathleen Thomas, Court Reporter for the U.S. District Court for the Western
District of Michigan, says on Monday 51 year old Dale Otis Junior was given the sentence after he plead guilty to the charge. Federal prosecutors agreed to dismiss a charge of possession of child pornography in exchange for the plea.
Otis was arrested in June 2018 by the Michigan State Police. They received a high priority tip from the National Center for Missing And Exploited Children, pertaining to the possible manufacture of child sexually abusive material.
Troopers searched Otis' residence. They also interviewed him and examined electronic devices which showed evidence that Otis committed sexual assault on a three year old child along with manufacturing and possessing images of child sexually abusive material.
