Southern Michigan Bank & Trust recently provided a $25,000 donation to the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Promise Scholarship Program. The needs-based scholarship program, created in late 2018, assists Branch County students attending Kellogg Community College who are seeking continued education in the fields of health care and skilled trades. This past fall nineteen scholarships were awarded for the 2019-2020 school year totaling $20,000 and ranging from $500-$2000.
In addition to this donation, Southern has been a long-time sponsor of the KCC Foundation Gold Key Scholarships, which award $4500 per year to recipients for two consecutive years. Teresa Durham, Executive Director of the KCC Foundation says, “Once again Southern Michigan Bank and Trust is leading the way in support of the needs of students and their local community. This partnership will make a difference for both.”
