Rain showers return to the forecast for most of the day today to start off the work week, which will also usher in the return of cooler temperatures for much of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, highs for the day will be in the mid 60 degree range, but much of the tri-state region can expect that to drop as showers and thunderstorms are expected to work their way across the area.

These round of showers and storms will lead to much cooler, but dry conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs expected to be in the mid 50's, before another chance of showers returns to the forecast on Thursday.
