It was announced on Wednesday that Nestle plans to close part of its Fort Wayne facility by the end of this year.
In the facility most commonly known for manufacturing Edy's Ice Cream, employees were notified in a WARN notice filed back on August 1st about the company and it’s reorganizing the Nestle Sales and Supply Chain DSD operation and will close the Fort Wayne Wells Street location by December 31, 2019.
The first round of layoffs will begin on October 18th, with all 69 current employees set to lose their jobs by the end of December.
