MIDDLEBURY – A man was injured when his bicycle was struck by an automobile southwest of Middlebury.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 17 year old Grace Lueking of Middlebury was driving an SUV northeast on County Road 22 Monday, and approaching a bicycle, operated by 41 year old Dennis Bontrager of Middlebury. Deputies say Lueking failed to pass Bontrager safely, striking him and his bicycle.
Bontrager was taken to Goshen Hospital to be treated for pain in his left leg, left hip and right arm. Lueking was not injured and was given a citation for unsafe passing.
