Take Two On 2019 Season Kick-Off at Baer Field Motorsports Park

Historic Summit City Race Track Looks to Conquer Mother Nature This Weekend

After Mother Nature washed out any chance of getting the 2019 motorsports season underway at Baer Field Motorsports Park, this coming weekend looks promising. With dryer weather but cooler in temperature predicted this Saturday, the 56th season of competition will begin at Fort Wayne’s long running facility for high speed motorsports and entertainment.

Headlining this Saturday Night’s events, a 75-Lap Main Event for the Champion Racing Association Late Model Sportsman division. Since the series was first formed in late 2005, Baer Field has long been a staple on the tour’s schedule with former track champion, Terry Fisher, Jr. claiming the victory in the inaugural 50-lap affair held on May 21st, 2006. The series two most recent visits to Baer Field came last year where five-time track champion and Fort Wayne native, Tommy Cook claimed the victory in a 75-lap event on June 23rd, while rising young star Hunter Jack of Auburn, Indiana won on August 18th. The event this coming Saturday will serve as a “tune-up” of sorts as the series is set to conduct a 100-lap special event at Baer Field on Saturday, July 20th.

Joining the CRA Late Model Sportsman event will be the stars and cars of the Baer Field Motorsports Park “Saturday Night Racing Series” with the Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Front Wheel Drive classes in a full night of racing.

The facility located on the south side of Fort Wayne has long sense played host to many of motorsports legends. From Daytona 500 winners like Buddy Baker and Dale Earnhardt, to local heroes like Larry Zent and Moose Myers all have graced their presence at the legendary facility.

Spectator gates will open at 4 P.M. on Saturday afternoon, qualifying set to start at 5 P.M., and racing action beginning at 7 P.M.

Baer Field Motorsports Park is located at 4331 Winters Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. For more information about the remainder of the 2019 racing season at the historic Summit City speed plant, the track website is available and located at: www.baerfieldmotorpark.com
