Lakeland High School will host a Principals and Parents meeting on Thursday at 7pm in Lakeland High School’s auditorium on the dangers of vaping.
Indiana State Excise Police North Region Commander, Captain Tim Cleveland, will speak with parents, students, and community members on the dangers and warning signs of the growing vape, juul, e-cigarette movement among teens.
Educational efforts have gotten the message to teens that smoking real cigarettes is a bad idea however, some teens are under the impression that vaping is a safe alternative.
According to the CDC vaping is skyrocketing among teens. High schoolers are doing it and increasingly, middle schoolers are as well.
This event is part of Lakeland’s monthly meetings between parents and principals concerning school topics. Previous topics included parenting in a digital age and financial aid information.
