A man was hurt and hospitalized after a crash Wednesday afternoon west of Ashley-Hudson.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department and emergency crews were called in at around 12:45 p.m. to State Road 4 just west of County Road 19 on a report of a crash.
According to investigative reports, Cody L. Stafford, age 25 of Stroh, was headed east on 4 in his vehicle when he left the south side of the roadway and struck a tree in a ditch head-on. Reports did not indicate why his vehicle veered off the road.
Authorities say that Stafford suffered a contusion to the head, a lower leg injury and a partially collapsed lung in the crash. He transported from the scene to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Stafford was given a citation for driving with an improper driver's license.
The crash remains under investigation.
