A man who was shot while allegedly trying to break into an Algansee Township house has waived his arraignment.
Branch County District Court personnel say 20 year old Bryceton Vanscoder was bound over to Circuit Court on Wednesday. He is being held on a $100,000 bond on charges of second degree home invasion and second degree conspiracy to commit home invasion.
Michigan State Police also arrested 20 year old Branden Swander on the same charges. Troopers continue to look for a third suspect.
At 12:30 AM on March 28, troopers were called to the 1200 block of Berlew Road to investigate a home invasion. They determined that three suspects tried to enter the house by breaking in through the front door and breaking multiple windows.
The homeowners told troopers they attempted to protect themselves and fired several rounds from a weapon. The suspects fled the scene in a full size, four door sedan.
Troopers say Vanscoder was taken to Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital where he was treated for a superficial gunshot wound. The other individuals fled the scene.
Later on, authorities arrested Swander.
If anyone has information on the third suspect, they are urged to call the State Police Post in Marshall at 269-558-0500.
Vanscoder will have a pre-trial conference October 1.
