Satek Winery in Fremont struck gold at the Indy International Wine Competition last week at Purdue University. Satek won gold medals, with their flagship 101 Lakes Red, which won Best of Class in the ultra-competitive Concord category.
"We won awards in every quadrant: Sweet/Dry & Red/White as well as Rosé, for good measure" stated Satek winemaker Shane Christ. "This is the second time in four years Lakes Red has won Best of Class-Concord, a staple for almost every winery, and that is very, very gratifying".
The Indy International is one of the largest wine competitions in the United States, with more than 1,700 entries from all over the United States and beyond, with judges picked from all over the country, and from many aspects of the wine world.
Satek Winery began in 2001, as the first winery in Northeast Indiana.
