Two Arrested on Indiana Toll Road on Numerous Drug Charges

A man and a woman were arrested early Monday morning on the Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County on multiple charges relating to methamphetamine, heroin and other illegal drugs.
An Indiana State Police Trooper stopped a truck for an equipment and registration violations at the Toll Plaza near Fremont at around 2:15 a.m. INSP reports indicated that the Trooper smelled an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the truck and subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle.
As a result of the search, more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, along with heroin, marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia were seized by the ISP.
The driver, identified as 58 year old Arnold J. Scott of South Bend and his female passenger, 18 year old Acasia J. Haynes of Mishawaka, were both taken into custody without incident and incarcerated in the Steuben County Jail on multiple charges.
Both Scott and Haynes are being held on $80,000 bond each.
