Officials with Hamilton Community Schools say they are temporarily postponing their high school spring musical.
The Hamilton high school thespians were scheduled to bring the Broadway hit musical Dear Evan Hansen to the tri-state, with Friday, April 13th, being opening night. Another show was scheduled for Saturday; however, school officials sent word to area media that both shows on Friday and Saturday night would not be happening.
Hamilton School officials apologize for the inconvienence, but say "some details still need to be considered prior to performing the production". School officials say that "there is a learning curve for not just the students, but for staff as well".
The school district says a new date will be provided in the future, but did not specify if it would still be the same show.
The musical would have been the first musical that Hamilton Community Schools would have performed in over a decade.
The cancellation notice was sent to area media Friday, the same day the show was set to open.
