Earlier this year, the Angola Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual strategic planning session to develop and outline goals for 2018. With Laura Macknick, owner of Macknick Philanthropy Advisors leading the session, the group outlined an aggressive plan for the organization.
Objectives from the session include: continuing the Chamber's public image and good standing in the community, ensuring effective organizational planning, strengthening programs and services, creating mutually beneficial partnerships and providing support to the executive director. This will drive the organization to meet the stated mission to provide proactive leadership to the membership and the community through partnership and advocacy.
"We are building on the hard work and dedication of previous leadership and members to have a fantastic year. This is one of the most community-minded and engaged boards I've worked with," said 2018 Board Chairman, Mike Votaw, "Laura did an excellent job guiding the discussion and outlining the strategies and goals most important to our Chamber’s success."
The professional staff led by the executive director, Jeff Rhodes, participated and helped guide the board of directors. The staff will now work closely with the board, the membership and stakeholders within the community to achieve these goals. "This is a key stepping off point for the organization," said Rhodes. "Our economy is growing at a great pace and we stand ready to push it even further. The Angola Area Chamber of Commerce is poised to be the best conduit to help drive this growth on behalf of our members."
