Police say a Wolcottville man who drove away from a traffic stop Friday evening faces charges.
A sheriff’s department deputy stopped the black GMC Acadia on County Road 700 South west of 500 East for a traffic violation.
39-year-old Stephen Page Jr. of Wolcottville drove away after initially stopping.
A pursuit went through Wolcottville and Rome City before ending near 800 North and State Road 9 in Noble County when a Rome City officer successfully deployed stop sticks and flattened three of the SUV’s tires.
A search of the vehicle turned up more than 270 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded 38 caliber handgun.
Page was taken to the LaGrange County Jail and charges with felony counts of Resisting Law Enforcement by vehicle and dealing marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. He’s also facing misdemeanor counts of carrying a handgun without a license, criminal recklessness and reckless driving.
