Angola was honored with an award from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch for the Hometown Collaboration Initiative.
The HCI award, honors the Angola community for how it is strengthen existing economic assets. The city was also commended for placemaking strategies that improve quality of life and attractiveness in and around Angola.
The HCI organization partners with Purdue University and Ball State University for communities committed to building on existing assets. The recognition is only available to communities with a total population of 25,000 or fewer people.
