A 23 year old man from Garrett was arrested Sunday afternoon after charges were filed against him stemming from an incident he was involved in back in September 2017 outside of a bar in Garrett, which left another man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
On September 5, 2017, Indiana State Police investigated a physical altercation between then 22 year old Adam J. High and 28 year old Chase Geist outside of Martin’s Tavern, located at 115 S. Randolph Street in Garrett, which itself took place during the early morning hours of September 2, 2017.
As a result of the altercation, Mr. Geist was hospitalized with severe head injuries and has undergone extensive medical treatment since that time.
After the conclusion of the ISP investigation, it was then turned over to the DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Adam J. High with Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony.
Accompanied by his attorney, High turned himself into the custody of the Indiana State Police on Sunday. He was then incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
