Every spring for the last several years, Steuben County United Way has coordinated Days of Caring events to help local community members with projects in and around their homes. This year Days of Caring kick off will be May 1.
According to Jessica Brodock, executive director of the Steuben County United Way, “Days of Caring is our opportunity to give back to those that are senior citizens, disabled, and veterans".
The United Way is looking for projects and volunteers to help on these days. If you know someone who needs help around their home with projects, please contact Steuben County United Way. Projects can include minor home repair, yard clean up, painting, window cleaning, clearing gutters, etc. United Way is also looking for volunteers to help on these days. Last year over 300 people came out to volunteer. This year specifically, the organization is looking for help from those with experience building to provide several community members with wheelchair ramps for their homes.
