Quincy High School Graduation Postponed Until August 2nd
Wednesday, July 15, 2020

Quincy High School has once again postponed their graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020.

In a release posted on the school district's webpage, Quincy Superintendent Marc Kramer says that he spoke with representatives from the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency on Monday. Following that discussion, Kramer says they decided to postpone the graduation, which was scheduled for July 19th, until August 2nd.

Kramer says the CHA stated that outdoor gatherings are still limited to 100 people in the region. With parents, students and school staff in attendance, the district would easily exceed that limit. In addition, several other counties in Southern Michigan have seen significant increases in positive COVID-19 cases, with more increases being anticipated in the weeks to come.

Kramer says he hopes that the restrictions will be eased enough to allow the commencement ceremony to be conducted on August 2, with at least parents and students in attendance.
