The LaGrange County 4-H Fair will go on in 2020.

That was the decision made by the LaGrange County 4-H Board, which met
Thursday to determine the format of this year's fair, which is set to run July 11-18. According to Fair Board President Ken Martin, the Board's determination was that, out of necessity, the Fair will look different from what people are accustomed to seeing.

However, in this time of pandemic and restrictions, the Board is committed to providing their 4-Her's with opportunities to exhibit animals and static projects.

LaGrange County 4-H will utilize the “show and go” format for all of their animal shows this year. Exhibitors that are able to show from trailers are allowed and encouraged to do so. Accommodations for stalling and grooming animals will be made for those who need it. The schedule of animal shows will be limited to 2 to 3 species a day, which is being done to limit the number of people on the fairgrounds.

No animals or exhibitors will be allowed to stay overnight on the fairgrounds. 4-H families may choose to exhibit their static projects and animals virtually. There will be no penalty or preferential treatment for projects or exhibits based on the method 4-Hers use to display his or her exhibit. Details on how this will work is still
being discussed. A schedule for the judging of static projects and animal shows will be sent out soon.

Anyone wishing to enter the fairgrounds will be required to sign in each day and must agree to a health check. Details of check in procedures will be clarified at a later date as more information becomes available to the Board. All procedures will be aligned to the Governor’s requirements for re-opening the State.
