Thursday, April 9, 2020

COLUMBUS, OH - According to the Ohio Department of Health, Henry County and Jackson County are no longer among the last counties in Ohio without a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Henry County health officials say the patient is an older male, but are not releasing any other personal information about the individual to protect his privacy. The department has had more than a month to review and revise plans, so they say they were ready when it received the positive result.

The state of Ohio now has 5,148 confirmed cases, with 193 deaths. According to the Ohio Department of Health’s report Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases increased by 8% from Tuesday, which continues a trend for increases that have been much lower than in March when the daily increases were often about 20% and sometimes above 40%.

Williams county still has only 1 confirmed case, where Fulton County has 5, and Defiance County has 10.
