General Motors CEO Aims To End UAW Strike Soon
Wednesday, October 16, 2019

General Motors CEO Mary Barra joined negotiators at the bargaining table to start the week which some consider an indication that a deal may be near to end a the strike by members of the United Auto Workers union, a strike that has now stretched into the four week mark that has paralyzed the company’s factories.

Barra along with other top General Motors executives were in the bargaining room early Tuesday, but it was not clear if they remained in negotiations as the talks between both the UAW and GM are confidential.

The appearance of two key executives is a strong sign that bargainers are closing in on a contract agreement that would end the strike, which began back on September 16th.
