Bronson Polish Festival Holds Opening Ceremony

The 50th annual Bronson Polish Festival got underway Thursday with the opening ceremonies.

Part of the ceremonies is the crowing of the 2019 Royal Court. This year, the 2019 King is John Wielgos (wheel-goes) and the Queen is Candy Cox. The 2019 Prince in Brendan Withington while the Princess is Emily Rissman (ris-man), and the Junior Prince is Luke Bir and the Junior Princess is Kayleigh Sikorski (CAY-LEE sih-CORE-ski).

Today's events include the pancake breakfast until 11 AM; kid's day in Douglas Park from 10 AM until 12 PM; Polish food at the Knights of Columbus from 11 AM until 9 PM; inflatables and games starting at 12 PM in the downtown area and the kids pedal tractor pulls in the Library parking lot.

Also going on today will be the turkey breast and Polish sausage dinner starting at 4 PM at the First Congregational Church, and the church will also host the the Scrappy Quilters Quilt Show. There will be Bingo starting at 5 PM in the basement of the American Legion, the men's softball tournament starts at 6 PM in Greenwald Park; Dani Jamerson (Danny JAME-er-son) will be in concert at 6 PM under the tent uptown, and the band Meccabone will be at the Bronson Strike Zone starting at 9:30 PM.
