Road construction projects are underway in full force in Steuben County, including some new ones to be mindful of on commutes. The railroad just south of Helmer between County Road 772 West and State Route 4 will have roads completely closed at the tracks while the railroad rebuilds it. This closure is expected to last into early next week.
Contractors also have the road closed between U.S. 20 and State Route 4 to begin the full-depth reclamation (FDR). Contractors are beginning the project at the north end of the project area near U.S. 20, and the closure will be in place tentatively thorough mid-November.
During the various projects, motorists are advised to seek and plan for alternative routes accordingly.
